Rosehip - Contains naturally occurring Rettinoid Acid (Vitamin A) and is excellent for reducing large pores, helping combination skin and boosting the resilience of sensitive skin.
Thistle (aka Safflower) - Thistle Oil helps to soften the skin and also helps to repair the skin’s natural lipid barrier which is hugely protective. As an effective moisturiser, it maintains hydration levels in the skin. It promotes cellular regeneration and soothes inflammation in the skin.
Oat - The production of ceramide in our body slows down with age, which in turn increases skin irritations. Oat oil is loaded with ceramides, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, helping to soothe sensitive and damaged skin. It helps to diminish free radical activity, reducing the signs of ageing whilst softening the skin. Oat oil can provide massive relief for anyone suffering from itchy skin, which is often caused by a fungal infection.
Jojoba - Jojoba oil has a rich nutritional profile including vitamin E, vitamin B-complex and zinc. The combination of these three powerful nutrients helps give it super-hydrating properties. Dry skin benefits from Jojoba Oil as it locks moisture in the skin and soothes dry and chapped areas. It keeps the skin soft and hydrated.
Grapeseed - Contains linoleic acid and plenty of antioxidants. It’s high in linoleic acid, also known as omega-6 fatty acid, which in addition to fortifying the skin’s barrier and helping to reduce water loss from the skin. Great for inflamed and red skin often associated with breakouts. Grapeseed oil contains powerful antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids that work together to fade dark spots, lighten scars and even out skin tone. Grapeseed oil's antimicrobial properties mean that it deeply cleanses the skin.
Willow Bark - A natural alternative to Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) or salicylic acid. Willow bark can help exfoliate dead, dry skin cells from the surface layer of skin; ridding skin of that build-up — which could potentially clog pores, leading to blackheads and breakouts — therefore keeps skin clear. Willow bark extract includes high amounts of salicin, a precursor to salicylic acid with potent anti-inflammatory abilities that means it is able to instantly minimize the swelling, redness, and pain of acne blemishes.
Squalane (Olive derived) - An effective hydrator. An excellent natural emollient that smoothes and softens skin. Similar to the skin’s natural oil (sebum). Protects against moisture loss. It softens the skin, improves elasticity, protects against moisture loss and has a luxurious skin feel.
Vitamin E - An antioxidant that can help fight free radicals, which are molecules that damage the DNA in cells. Vitamin E is a classic antioxidant that slows down the appearance of ageing and boosts the circulation in the skin.
Scottish Highland Pine - Traditionally used by qualified aromatherapists to stimulate the Pineal Gland. We used it for its disinfectant and antifungal properties. But we just love the grounding earthy soft aroma.
